The 2012 Carolina Olde Boys Weekend will be held Friday, November 9 through Sunday, November 11. This is the 45th Anniversary of Carolina Rugby! It is also HOMECOMING Weekend, so you are encouraged to make your travel arrangements early.

Here is some information you need to know:

• The Annual COB/USC match will be played on Friday, November 9, at 7 p.m. at the Strom Thurmond Wellness Field.
• COB Dues are $50.00 per year if received before November 1, and $75.00 if received after or on the day of the COB/USC match.
• COB Dues must be paid prior to the start of the COB/USC match in order to participate in said match and/or the football tailgate on Saturday. No exceptions.
• A post-match gathering Friday night will be announced at a later date.
• COB will host a pre-game tailgate on Saturday, November 10, two hours prior to the football game vs. Arkansas. The COB Tailgate will take place at Shuman Owens Supply Co. located at 1080 Shop Road. (Come down Assembly Street toward the stadium; bear left at the light on Shop Road at the light where Assembly turns into George Rogers Blvd. Look for the big blue building immediately on the left directly across from The Gates condominiums.) 

• Make checks payable to C.O.B. and mail to COB, PO Box 2023, Columbia, SC 29202.
• Please wear a garnet or red shirt/jersey if you plan on playing in the COB/USC match.
• Please note that pets and alcohol are not permitted at the match site.   
  

Additional information:

• The Strom Thurmond Facility (location of the pitch) is located on the corner of Assembly Street and Blossom Streets (across from the old Carolina Coliseum. There is a large parking lot on Blossom Street across from The Strom.

• Make your hotel reservations early. Hotels fill up months in advance for home football weekends.

Parking for Tailgating: You can park anywhere you wish and walk to the tailgate at Shuman Owen Supply, or if you would like to pre-pay for a spot, be one of the first 25 people to add $20.00 to your dues check and mail it to the C.O.B. address at the bottom left of this page.

Hotel Rooms: Since this is Homecoming Weekend and a home football weekend, hotels will become scarce quickly. COB has secured a block of 20 rooms at the Clarion Hotel at 1615 Gervais Street (between 5 Points and The Vista) for a rate of $179.00 per night. (This is about $50 cheaper than the normal rate for a football weekend).  The phone number is 803.771.8711. When calling, please mention “Carolina Olde Boys/USC Rugby Alumni”. The block will only be held until September 1.

Football Tickets: If you would like to purchase block seating for a football ticket in advance, we ask that you fill out the RSVP form located on this web site. If we get firm commitments for at least 50 football tickets, the cost is $42 each. Otherwise the cost will be $60 each. PLEASE, only mark “yes” for a football ticket if you are absolutely sure you will be paying for a ticket. We will send a web site at a later date for you to actually make this purchase, so DO NOT SEND a check for a football ticket at this time – only a commitment that you will purchase a ticket(s).
